June 21. Rainy all day. Ran a line to the Danish barque  ‘Herthy’ owing to the wind blowing. An officer from the 'Taurango' made a visit of thanks to the Captain of this ship for dressing ship and firing a salute yesterday. Went to quarters for inspection, and exercised a fire quarters. Received several guns from Malietoas adherents - Clearing toward evening. 

June 22. Cloudy and damp with rain showers early in the day. Unmoored ship. At 6:30 got underway. Pilot came on board. Have on board several chiefs as passengers for Pago Pago – also interpreter for Commissioners. At 1:09 called all hands "bring ships to anchor" at 1:11 anchored at Leone Bay – Clear and pleasant towards evening.


June 23. Clear and pleasant. At 7:45 called "all hands up anchor" at 8:00 got underway for Pago Pago. Anchored at 10:04 in 30 fathoms of water. From 8:15 to 11:15 had the English, German, and American Ensigns flying at the foremast. Went ashore swimming.


June 24. Clear but damp. High Chief Mauga came on board to pay his respects to the Commissioners. Barometer falling. Rain during afternoon. Chief Mailo made a presentation of gifts to the Commissioners. Rain during evening – Went ashore in afternoon to swim.
