April 28, 1899, overcast and cloudy. Long rolling swells. On sails set. Ship rolling badly. Barometer steady. Had quarters and exercised at 22 cal target practice. Took in all sails at 8:30. Stoddart reported term of enlistment expired. Set clocks back 26 minutes. Cloudy and cool towards evening. Moderate sea on starboard quarter. Stoddart was discharged from the Naval Service.
